And then on October 31st I received an email that mentioned NaNoWriMo - the annual challenge to write 50,000 words in 30 days. I decided on a whim to give it a shot, and found the insane deadline to be remarkably motivating. My official tally on November 30th was 50,005 words - yeehaw!
